Job summary

Banner Fire Equipment in Roxana, IL is seeking a Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, pump testing, and system installation on fire apparatus and emergency vehicles. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, braking and chassis systems, fabricate custom components, document service notes, and support upfitting projects in a hands-on shop environment.

The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and 2–4 years of diesel/heavy vehicle maintenance experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
2–4 years in diesel/heavy vehicle or emergency vehicle maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read wiring diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
EVT certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Valid driver’s license and your own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.
Conduct NFPA 1910 inspections and pump testing.
Service and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, and drivetrain components.
Install and integrate emergency vehicle systems and accessories.
Fabricate and light weld for custom vehicle modifications.
Maintain accurate service records and communicate work status.
