Job summary

Hospital to Home LLC in Lynchburg, VA is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) to safely operate ambulances and assist EMS teams during emergencies and transfers.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, EVOC, CPR/First Aid, and a valid driver’s license with a good record; experience in EMS or healthcare transport is preferred. This role can be full-time or part-time with variable shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with 3+ years of driving.
• Current EVOC certification required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Experience operating emergency vehicles or in EMS transport preferred.
• Knowledge of local roadways and GPS systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 125 pounds solo and 250 with assistance.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate emergency vehicles during emergency responses, interfacility transfers, and non-emergency transports.
• Drive according to local traffic laws and best practices for emergency vehicle operation.
• Assist with loading and unloading of patients, stretchers, and equipment.
• Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections and ensure safety equipment is functional.
• Ensure vehicles are stocked, clean, and fully operational at shift start/end.
• Support EMS crew on-scene logistics and safety duties when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, EMS personnel, and healthcare facilities.
• Complete required documentation and maintenance reports accurately and promptly.
• Uphold HIPAA, safety, and infection control protocols.
