Lou Fusz Ford Inc. seeks a Public Safety Technician – Automotive Electrical Specialist to install, diagnose, and repair advanced electrical systems in emergency vehicles.

You will configure Whelen lighting, siren, and control systems to meet agency specs, and perform diagnostics with multimeters and manufacturer software. Join a team focused on keeping police, fire, and EMS fleets operational and compliant while maintaining thorough service records and staying current with Whelen product lines

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive electrical systems, including wiring, relays, and control modules.
• Hands-on knowledge of Whelen products—installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair automotive electrical systems in police, fire, and EMS vehicles.
• Configure, mount, and integrate Whelen lighting, siren, and control systems to meet agency specifications.
• Perform diagnostics using multimeters, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer software tools.
• Collaborate with fleet managers and public safety officials to ensure vehicles meet operational and compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
• Stay current on new Whelen product lines, installation techniques, and safety protocols.
