Job summary

VIP Distributing Co. seeks a Public Safety Technician specialized in automotive electrical systems to install, diagnose, and repair critical emergency-vehicle electronics.

You’ll work in our shop and on-site with police, fire, and EMS fleets to ensure readiness and reliability. You'll configure Whelen lighting, siren, and control systems, read wiring diagrams, and perform diagnostics with multimeters and vendor software.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in automotive electrical systems, including wiring, relays, and control modules.
• Hands-on knowledge of Whelen products—installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail under tight deadlines.
• A commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site in a shop or field environment.

Responsibilities
