Job summary

Garden State Veterinary Services is seeking Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) and Experienced Technicians to join our busy specialty hospital. As frontline nursing support, you will assist veterinarians with treatments, monitor anesthesia, triage patients, set up CRIs, collect samples, and maintain accurate records across Oncology and Neurology services.

We offer Daytime and Overnight shifts across departments.

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT preferred, or minimum 2 years of technician experience.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring skills.
• Experience processing laboratory samples.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and normal/abnormal ranges.
• Interest in mentoring and supporting assistants.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor anesthesia.
• Triage incoming patients and assist veterinarians.
• Set up CRIs and perform medical calculations.
• Place IV catheters and manage fluid therapy.
• Maintain treatment sheets and anesthesia records.
• Collect and prepare diagnostic samples.
• Monitor patient pain levels and advocate for hospitalized patients.
• Educate clients on at‑home care instructions.
