Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking workers to stand-by for call-in duties to support storm preparation and snow removal activities. The role includes operating equipment, performing heavy manual tasks, and assisting with emergency operations to clear roadways.

Candidates must be able to perform 12-hour shifts, day or night, and meet safety requirements such as wearing safety shoes and possessing a valid driver’s license.

Qualificações

• Heavy manual labor including standing, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate equipment such as loaders, backhoe, skid steer, and tractors.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsabilidades

• Emergency Operations: Support operations for snow/ice removal and apply abrasives on roadways.
• Manual Labor: Perform heavy tasks such as installing tire chains, plow blades, and debris removal.
• Perform duties as assigned, including tasks and projects as needed.
• Preventative Maintenance: Maintain equipment used during inclement weather to support emergency operations.
