Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of experience with vulnerable or special needs populations
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Knowledge of homelessness, mental health, and related issues

Responsibilities

• Supervision of adult homeless clients in an emergency shelter to ensure access to housing, meals and services
• Intake of applicants to assess housing needs and benefits
• Develop and manage day-to-day shelter operations
• Supervision of engagement activities to maintain a healthy, safe living environment
• Communicate with clients, staff and law enforcement to determine shelter needs
• Document case notes and incident reports in records
• Handle emergencies including medical, mental health and safety incidents
• Conduct hourly site walkthroughs to ensure safety and comfort
• Maintain a clean, welcoming facility and stock supplies
• Report unsafe occurrences and coordinate with on-call management when needed
• Attend mandatory meetings and trainings
• Perform other duties as required
