Job summary

Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland, part of Legacy Health, seeks an Emergency Services Tech to support newborn through geriatric patients in a fast-paced ED. You will collaborate with nurses and EMS personnel to deliver timely care and maintain safety standards.

Strong candidates will have a high school diploma, experience in emergency care, and BLS certification. CNA/MA/EMT are valued; the role offers competitive hourly pay and benefits at Legacy Health.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred.
• BLS for Providers certification from the American Heart Association required.
• CNA, MA or EMT desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care to newborn, child, adult and geriatric patients under RN supervision.
• Communicate with patients, visitors, EMS personnel and hospital staff.
• Maintain unit equipment and supplies, ensuring safety and readiness.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Services Credentialing competencies and renew within 3 months.
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and actions.

Responsibilities

• PATIENT CARE : Provides patient care to newborn, child, adult and geriatric patients as delegated by and under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• COMMUNICATION : Uses appropriate communication skills in dealing with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, hospital personnel.
• ENVIRONMENTAL DUTIES : Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for maintenance and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
• EDUCATION : Demonstrates and maintains active working knowledge of the Credentialing competencies for Emergency Services Techs. There will be a three-month leeway between time of hire and mandatory completion of competencies which will be turned in to nurse manager.
• PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR : Demonstrates professionalism in appearance and actions.

Licensure

Pay Range

USD $21.70 - USD $29.39 /Hr.
