Job summary

Legacy Health in Vancouver, WA seeks an Emergency Room Technician to join a dynamic Emergency Department team. You will support newborns to geriatrics under RN supervision, delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

You will help maintain patient flow, communicate effectively with EMS and staff, and ensure equipment safety and proper usage in urgent situations. Strong clinical skills and empathy are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred.
• Basic medical terminology and computer familiarity expected.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments; CNA/MA/EMT experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to a team-based approach to patient care and maintains efficient patient flow through the Emergency Department.
• Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatrics under RN supervision and delegation.
• Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.
• Maintains cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to a team-based approach to patient care, ensuring efficient and effective patient flow through the Emergency Department.
• Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.
• Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred

Skills

• Basic medical terminology.
• Computer familiarity.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

Licensure

Oregon

• Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification required.
• CNA, MA or EMT preferred.

Washington

• Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required.
• Registered or Certified Nursing Assistant (RNA/CNA) required for employees who perform this job in the state of Washington (including those who float into the role).
• Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist required for employees who perform phlebotomy in the State of Washington (including those who float into the role).

Pay Range

USD $22.32 - USD $31.90 /Hr.
