Job summary

St. David's Georgetown Hospital is seeking an Emergency Services Nursing Manager to lead the unit's clinical and financial outcomes in collaboration with the Director.

The role oversees daily operations, staff competency, and patient satisfaction while supporting budgeting and policy adherence. The position requires a Texas RN license (or compact license with 90-day Texas licensing window), BLS certification, a Bachelor's in Nursing, and 3+ years as Charge RN, Coordinator, or Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Current Texas RN license or a Compact RN license from a NCLA Compact State; new hires have 90 days from start date to obtain Texas RN License
  • BLS certification required as per St. David's HealthCare policy
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • 3+ years of experience as Charge RN, Coordinator, or Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Manage unit operations.
  • Manage unit personnel activities.
  • Coordinate inter and intra departmental activities of the unit.
  • Develop a professional climate within the nursing unit/units.
  • Maintain supplies and medications with PAR levels and ordering.
  • Responsible for daily KRONOS upkeep and position control reports.
  • Ensure daily Central/EMTALA log is accurate and complete.
  • Adhere to equal employment opportunity policy in all decisions.
  • Responsible for Customer Service initiatives.
  • Establish priorities and make independent complex decisions; interface with administration, physicians, public and health care team.
  • Represent unit and administration; maintain regular attendance.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Nursing Manager, in collaboration with the Director, is responsible for the clinical and financial outcomes of the unit. The manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit, including promoting positive patient, employee and physician satisfaction. The manager will assist the unit director to meet or exceed the monthly operating budget. The manager, in collaboration with the appropriate clinical educator/resource, will assure appropriate unit orientation and ongoing staff competency. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction. The roles and responsibilities will be primarily in a managerial, administrative role with clinical responsibilities based on the needs of the unit and may be adjusted from time to time to accommodate the changing needs of the unit.

  • You will represent unit and administration. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Current Texas RN License or a Compact RN license from a NCLA Compact State. New hires have 90 days from start date to obtain Texas RN License
  • BLS certifications required as per St. David's HealthCare policy.
  • As a Registered Nurse caring for acute stroke and trauma patients, you will be required to: Complete assigned stroke and trauma education upon hire and maintain annual stroke and trauma education per your unit direction
  • Bachelors Degree- Nursing required
  • 3+ years of experience as Charge RN, Coordinator, or Supervisor
