Theuniversityunion's Western Tidewater Community Service Board seeks a License Eligible Clinician for our Emergency Services Program. This full-time salaried position offers evening hours from 4:00 pm to Midnight and supports crisis services across mental health, substance use, and related fields.

Qualifications include a Master’s Degree in a Human Services field and one year of clinical experience; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a Human Services field (including Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or equivalent).
• One (1) year clinical experience in a mental health/substance abuse facility or similar setting.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable DMV record at the time of employment and continuously, thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Prescreening assessments for individuals requiring review for psychiatric hospitalization or admission to a crisis stabilization center
• Assist Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officer with individuals requiring review for psychiatric hospitalization and crisis stabilization
• Face-to-face crisis stabilization assessments and treatment for individuals requiring review for home-based crisis services.
• Assist in facilitating referrals for individuals in need of medical detox program
• Crisis consultation to significant others
• Provide other secondary direct services in these approaches: Case management.
• Supportive individual counseling
• Family support counseling and education regarding mental illness
• Provide crisis intervention services including telephone and/or face to face crisis contact with mentally ill, intellectually disabled, substance abusers and/or dually diagnosed individuals.
• Respond to consumer’s behavioral emergencies and to aggressive behavior using agency-approved techniques.
