Job summary

UCHealth is seeking an Emergency Department auxiliary/technician to provide emergent patient care under supervision in Aurora, CO. The role is on-site only, with a 72-hour per two-week schedule and day shifts.

Responsibilities include IV access, wound care, specimen collection, ECG/telemetry monitoring, and assisting with procedures. BLS and EMT licensure are required, with a focus on fast-paced, independent work.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; BLS Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
• Current EMT license with IV certification, or EMT-I.
• BLS/CPR card valid through start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated technical procedures including establishing IV access, collecting specimens, providing wound care, and transporting patients.
• Assists physicians and nurses with examinations, minor procedures, orthopedic treatment and resuscitation.
• Reports abnormal assessment findings to medical/nursing staff.
• Maintains patient flow and keeps rooms clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, decisive judgement, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
