Job summary

The City of Vancouver is seeking an Emergency Services Program Manager for the Vancouver Fire Department. This full-time, limited-term role supports the Fire Chief and executive leadership, aiding policy development and large-scale incident planning.

The position focuses on emergency preparedness, homeland security initiatives, and coordinating with regional partners to improve service delivery and safety for our community.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years in public safety operations or emergency management.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Hazard identification, risk assessment, and vulnerability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the completion and maintenance of a standards-of-coverage document to optimize resources.
• Develop and implement a continuity of operations plan for large-scale emergencies.
• Assist in developing operational manuals (e.g., High Rise, HazMat, Wildland Urban Interface).
• Coordinate information sharing with regional law enforcement to support homeland security.
