Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Emergency Services Care Assistant/Unit Secretary for the Arlington Heights ED. Per diem nights 7pm-7am, every other weekend, with a $19.71-$28.58 hourly pay range.

You will assist nursing and medical staff under RN supervision, performing direct patient care and non-licensed tasks, while ensuring supplies and cleanliness are maintained.

Qualifications

• The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school.
• Required certifications include CNA, EMT, or paramedic credentials.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• NCH employees in patient care may have a waived EMT requirement.
• ED tech experience of two years in a comparable institution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support ED and Treatment Center nursing and medical staff in patient care under RN supervision.
• Provide direct patient care and perform non-licensed technical/medical procedures.
• Help direct environmental aide to ensure supply availability; perform clerical, stocking, and cleaning tasks as needed.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do:

Reporting to the ED Manager, maintains responsibility for assisting and supporting the Emergency Department and Treatment Center Nursing and Medical staff in the delivery of patient care. Under RN supervision, provides direct patient care; performs technical and medical procedures that are not governed by licensure. May assist in directing unit environmental aide to ensure supply availability or perform clerical, stocking, and cleaning functions as required.

What you will need:

Education:

The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school

Certification:

• Certified Nursing Assistant
• Paramedic
• Nursing student with six months of clinical
• Certified EMT with at least one year of field experience (field experience can be waived for NCH employees currently working in a patient care area)
• Emergency Department Technicians with at least two years current experience in a comparable institution

Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
