Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Emergency Services Care Assistant/Unit Secretary for the Emergency Department in Arlington Heights, IL. You will support nursing and medical staff in delivering patient care under RN supervision and assist with clerical and environmental tasks as needed.

The role requires a CNA/EMT/paramedic background, CPR certification, and one to two years of relevant ED experience. This full-time night shift offers a path for professional growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: four years of high school completed.
• Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant, Paramedic, Nursing student with six months of clinical, certified EMT with at least one year of field experience; ED Technicians with at least two years current experience in a comparable institution.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist ED and Treatment Center Nursing and Medical staff in delivering patient care.

• May assist directing unit environmental aide to ensure supply availability or perform clerical, stocking, and cleaning functions.

Reporting to the ED Manager, maintains responsibility for assisting and supporting the Emergency Department and Treatment Center Nursing and Medical staff in the delivery of patient care.

Under RN supervision, provides direct patient care; performs technical and medical procedures that are not governed by licensure.

May assist in directing unit environmental aide to ensure supply availability or perform clerical, stocking, and cleaning functions as required.

Requirements

• Education: The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school
• Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant, Paramedic, Nursing student with six months of clinical, certified EMT with at least one year of field experience (field experience can be waived for NCH employees currently working in a patient care area) and Emergency Department Technicians with at least two years current experience in a comparable institution
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
