Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Emergency Services Care Assistant/Unit Secretary for the Emergency Department in Arlington Heights, IL. The role is full-time (36 hours/week) with hours 7pm–3am and every other weekend.

Under RN supervision you will aid nursing and medical staff, perform non-licensed procedures, and may direct environmental aides as needed. CNA/EMT/ED tech credentials and CPR certification are required to ensure readiness for this critical care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA, Paramedic, EMT or ED Technician certification/experience as listed.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support ED and Treatment Center nursing and medical staff in patient care.
• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision; perform non-licensed medical procedures.
• May supervise environmental aide and handle clerical, stocking, and cleaning tasks as required.

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Emergency Services Care Assistant/Unit Secretary - Emergency Department

• Location: Arlington Heights, IL

• Full Time, 36 hours/week

• Hours: 7pm -3:00am; Every other weekend

What you will do:

• Reporting to the ED Manager, maintains responsibility for assisting and supporting the Emergency Department and Treatment Center Nursing and Medical staff in the delivery of patient care.

• Under RN supervision, provides direct patient care; performs technical and medical procedures that are not governed by licensure.

• May assist in directing unit environmental aide to ensure supply availability or perform clerical, stocking, and cleaning functions as required.

What you will need:

• Education: The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school

• Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant, Paramedic, Nursing student with six months of clinical, certified EMT with at least one year of field experience (field experience can be waived for NCH employees currently working in a patient care area) and Emergency Department Technicians with at least two years current experience in a comparable institution

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
