Job summary

Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking an Emergency Services Care Assistant/Unit Secretary for the ED. This full-time position covers 36 hours per week with 7pm–7:30am shifts and every other weekend.

You will assist ED staff under RN supervision, provide direct patient care where not restricted by licensure, and help with clerical, stocking, and supply management as required. Qualifications include a high school diploma, CNA/EMT/paramedic credentials or nursing student with clinical

• CNA, EMT, or paramedic certifications; nursing student with clinical exposure.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Support ED and Treatment Center nursing/medical staff in patient care.
• Under RN supervision, provide direct patient care and perform non-licensed procedures.
• Assist in directing unit aides and handling clerical, stocking, and cleaning tasks as needed.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Emergency Services Care Assistant/Unit Secretary - Emergency Department
• Location: Arlington Heights, IL
• Full Time, 36 hours/week
• Hours: 7pm -7:30am; Every other weekend
• Required Travel: No

What you will do:

• Reporting to the ED Manager, maintains responsibility for assisting and supporting the Emergency Department and Treatment Center Nursing and Medical staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Under RN supervision, provides direct patient care; performs technical and medical procedures that are not governed by licensure.
• May assist in directing unit environmental aide to ensure supply availability or perform clerical, stocking, and cleaning functions as required.

What you will need:

• Education: The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school
• Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant, Paramedic, Nursing student with six months of clinical, certified EMT with at least one year of field experience (field experience can be waived for NCH employees currently working in a patient care area) and Emergency Department Technicians with at least two years current experience in a comparable institution
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
