Position Overview

This role provides technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of patients across assigned areas.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Collect, report, and document clinical data, including vital signs, height, weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimen collection.
  2. Collect laboratory samples and perform lab tests per established policies, procedures, COLA, and CLIA regulations.
  3. Assist with patient activities and care as directed by the charge nurse, based on the patient's plan of care.
  4. Provide superficial wound care.
  5. Ensure patient safety considering age and condition.
  6. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  7. Ensure a clean, safe environment, adhering to aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and infection control measures.
  8. Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
Other Job Functions
  1. Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations and procedures, and assist with other treatments.
  2. Maintain supplies in patient care areas.
  3. Assist with patient restraints, and document related data and emergencies.
  4. Travel to all facility locations as needed.
  5. Attend staff and mandated meetings.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with completion of one of the following:
    • Medical Corpsman program + 1 year relevant experience, OR
    • EMT-P, AEMT, or Licensed Paramedic course + 1 year relevant experience, OR
    • EMT-B + 1+ years ER tech or hospital experience (Oklahoma, North TX, Wisconsin, PA markets), OR
    • First-year nursing student + 1 year relevant experience, OR
    • 3+ years ER tech experience (2+ years in Pittsburgh market), OR
    • 3+ years CNA with hospital experience (Wisconsin only), OR
    • 3+ years as a Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech (Wisconsin only).
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Current ACLS/ALS certifications (except Pennsylvania; strongly preferred in PA, required in Wisconsin for EMT-P).
  • Current PALS certification (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with IV starts, phlebotomy, and EKG initiation is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral communication skills.
