Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of Medical Corpsman program and one year of applicable experience
• EMT-P / AEMT / LP courses with one year of applicable experience
• EMT-B with 1+ year ER experience (Oklahoma, North TX, WI & PA markets)
• First year of nursing school with one year of applicable experience
• 2+ years ER experience as ER Technician
• 3+ years as CNA with hospital experience (Wisconsin market)
• 3+ years as Certified Anesthesia Tech/OR Tech (Wisconsin market)
• Current BLS certification through AHA/Red Cross
• Current ACLS/ALS certification in most markets
• Current PALS certification preferred
• IV start/Phlebotomy/EKG experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect, report, and document clinical data. Take vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing per policies, COLA and CLIA regulations
• Assist with patient activities and care as assigned by the charge nurse/designee
• Provide superficial wound care
• Ensure patient safety related to age and condition
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records
• Keep a clean, safe environment and use proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of the patient
• Prepare patients and chaperone during examinations/procedures or assist with other treatments
• Maintain patient care areas with supplies
• Assist with patient restraints and document data related to needs, emergencies, and behavior
• Travel to all facility locations as required
• Attend staff or mandated meetings
• Perform additional duties as assigned
