Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an Emergency Room Tech in Memorial Lufkin to support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department. You will perform delegated tasks from the RN or Physician, assist with patient transport, and provide clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

You will monitor vital signs, observe patients, and report changes to the nursing staff. This role includes direct and indirect patient care, as well as updating the ED Tracking Board/Care Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Basic Life Support – CPR required within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by the RN and Medical Staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs, observes patients’ physical, mental, and emotional condition and reports any changes to the nursing or medical staff.
• Provides indirect patient care.
• Performs and documents general therapeutic/diagnostic measures.
• Acts as transporter.
• Assists with updating the Emergency Department Tracking Board/Care Manager.

Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit. To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate, upon hire or High School GED, upon hire
• Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days

Preferred

• One (1) year of previous Emergency Room experience preferred, upon hire
