Job summary

St. Luke’s Health – Memorial Lufkin is seeking an Emergency Room Tech to support safe, cost‑effective patient care in the ED. You will perform delegated tasks from RNs or physicians, conduct selected diagnostics, assist with patient transport, and provide clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

Responsibilities include direct patient care as delegated, monitoring vital signs, and updating the EDTB. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and CPR within 14 days; 1 year ER experience

• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost‑efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician. Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit. To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by the RN and Medical Staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs, observes patients' physical, mental, and emotional condition and reports any changes to the nursing or medical staff.
• Provides indirect patient care.
• Performs and documents general therapeutic/diagnostic measures.
• Acts as transporter.
• Assists with updating the Emergency Department Tracking Board/Care Manager (EDTB).

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate, upon hire.
• High School GED, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days.

Preferred

• One (1) year of previous Emergency Room experience preferred, upon hire.

Pay Range

$16.06 - $22.69 /hour
