Job summary

CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, AR is seeking an Emergency Room Tech to support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the ED. You will perform delegated tasks from RN or physician, assist with diagnostics, patient transport, and general clerical duties to maintain unit efficiency.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, updating the EDTB, discharging patients, and communicating clearly with staff, patients and families to uphold quality care standards.

Qualifications

• High School GED or diploma required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks under RN/MD supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as delegated by RN/Medical Staff.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with patient transport, rooming, and documentation.
• Update the EDTB to improve patient flow and enter charges timely.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families and colleagues.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department, performing delegated functions from the RN or Physician.

Every day you will conduct selected diagnostics and procedures, assist with patient transport and lifting, and provide general clerical and cleaning support to the unit.

To be successful in this role you will effectively execute delegated tasks, support unit operations, and contribute to a safe and efficient environment.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by the RN and Medical Staff. Monitors and records vital signs, observes patients' physical, mental, and emotional condition and reports any changes to the nursing or medical staff.
• Provides indirect patient care. Escorting patient to the exam room. Performs and documents general therapeutic/diagnostic measures. Acts as transporter. Assists with updating the Emergency Department Tracking Board/Care Manager (EDTB).
• Acts as unit clerk; Utilizes hospital information systems according to the hospital policy. Discharges patients and enters charges for patients in a timely matter. Utilizes the EDTB to improve patient flow. Performs order data entry as assigned by the nurse or physician.
• Communicates with patients, family, physicians, other departments, unit personnel, and peers in an accurate, courteous and professional manner.
• Demonstrates a commitment to patients, nursing staff, and Emergency Department in accordance with the team performance expectations

Pay Range

$17.00 - $20.63 /hour
