Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is seeking an ER care assistant to support patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate patient handoffs in a busy rural Alaska ER.

Minimum education is a high school diploma; a 1-year hospital or ambulance background is preferred, with BLS current and ETT or higher certification encouraged, to be obtained within six months of hire. Location is Bethel, AK in a Tribal health setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an acute hospital setting or ambulance.
  • Current BLS certification; ETT or higher preferred; ETT certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic arrhythmia course required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with patient care under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Works within scope of practice to support patient needs.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and teamwork in the Emergency Room.

Position Summary: Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience: One-year experience in acute Hospital setting or in ambulance.

License, Certification, Registration: Current BLS certification. ETT or higher certification preferred. ETT Certification to be obtained within 6 months of hired. Basic arrhythmia course (may obtain within 6 months of hire); medical terminology.
