Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska is seeking a patient care assistant to support Registered Nurses in delivering compassionate care. You will assist with patient support, assessments, and routine tasks under direct supervision in a fast-paced emergency department setting.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of acute hospital or ambulance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One-year experience in acute hospital setting or ambulance.
• Current BLS certification; ETT or higher certification preferred and ETT within 6 months.
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs clinical tasks within scope of practice and maintains patient safety.
• Communicates effectively with the care team and patients to ensure quality care.

Position Summary:

Position Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: One-year experience in acute Hospital setting or in ambulance.
• License, Certification, Registration: Current BLS certification. ETT or higher certification preferred. ETT Certification to be obtained within 6 months of hired. Basic arrhythmia course (may obtain within 6 months of hire); medical terminology.
