Job summary

Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician/ Medical Assistant to assist with patient care under supervision in a fast-paced ED. The role supports registered nurses and physicians in delivering timely, safe patient care.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BCLS certification, and prior ED tech/MA experience if possible. Training orientation is provided, with potential pathways to further certifications.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Previous Emergency Dept Technician, MA or Nursing Assistant experience preferred. BCLS certification required.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• One of the following certifications/programs required:
• B-EMT
• Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program.
• Completion of a formal nursing education program (Associates program and/or above).
• Completion of a formal medical doctor education program
• OR One (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of above

• (Must complete applicable certification/program within 12 months of hire).
• Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period required.
• EMT license preferred.
