Job summary

Sentara Lake Ridge in Virginia is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse for its Freestanding Emergency Department, with 11:00am–11:00pm shifts. A sign‑on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates, and the role emphasizes high‑quality ED nursing care and adherence to clinical standards.

The RN will provide comprehensive care, complete ABCs of ED nursing, and pursue ACLS/PALS/ENPC within one year.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a compact multi-state license.
• Graduate from an accredited RN program (ASN, BSN, Diploma, MSN or higher).
• Commitment to meeting ED nursing standards and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Maintain standards of practice and professional performance across nursing activities.
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge to meet ED requirements and specialty needs.
• Ensure ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire.
• Maintain BLS within 90 days of hire.

Minimum Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) License - Single State License - Virginia OR
• Registered Nurse (RN) License - Compact/Multi‑State License
• RN‑Associate's Degree or RN‑Bachelor's Degree or RN‑Diploma or RN‑Master's Degree or RN‑Doctorate Degree

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience

Job Responsibilities

• The RN is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process.
• Maintain standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, evaluation) and professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, environmental health).
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
• Meet and maintain any requirements defined by specific specialty; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire.
• All Direct Care RN’s required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
