Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• At least three years experience as an RN in an Emergency Room setting.
• RN, current in the State of Texas.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS or ENPC required within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and implement all nursing care for ED patients.
• Ensure high quality and safe patient care in compliance with standards of care.
• Care for patients across all ages—from newborns to adults.
• Perform direct patient care within RN scope per hospital policies.
• Assess psychosocial, educational, and physical needs by age group.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and triage as needed.
• Develop and prioritize plan of care and educational needs.
• Document patient/family education and follow documentation policies.
• Utilize MediTech for registrations, orders, discharges and printing labs.
• Support moderate sedation as needed.
