Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the New London ED/PSH services to deliver high-quality patient care and exceptional service. The RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include education, triage and potential charge precepting, with cross-training across ED and psychiatric emergency services as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis.
• Develop, communicate and document a plan of care with the patient, family and team.
• Coordinate and implement the plan of care with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate outcomes and revise the plan of care; manage discharge readiness.
• Provide patient and family education and document outcomes.
• Serve as psychiatric emergency nurse, triage nurse, charge nurse as assigned.
• Precept new staff and meet performance expectations for service.
