Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood is seeking an Emergency Room RN to join our fast-paced surgical hospital team. The RN will provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department, triaging patients safely and communicating changes in status promptly to ED physicians.

The role requires initiative, flexibility and the ability to prioritize patient needs with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality care standards for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in emergency department or trauma settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients safely and efficiently upon entry to the ER.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care per physician orders.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ED physicians; prioritize care.
• Assist with patient flow and provide rapid response to evolving conditions.

Job Summary: The RN will provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting. The RN will also provide care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. The RN must be able to triage safely, rapidly and accurately, every patient that enters the emergency care system. Must be able to determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. The RN must communicate with Emergency Department physician as about changes in patient's status, symptomology and results of diagnostic studies. The RN must be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. We have an emergency treatment area and that, in periods of downtime, the ER nurse will be expected to aid the PSU
