Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN Emergency Services. The role requires 2 years of RN experience and current Texas licensure with Texas PS V compact; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required, with NIHSTROKE and NVCRISIS preferred within 4 months.

You will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, educate patients, and maintain records in collaboration with an interprofessional team.

Qualifications

• Two years RN experience in a healthcare environment.
• Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency) and maintain ongoing licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NIHSTROKE and NVCRISIS preferred/within 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and maintain medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional health care team to coordinate care.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning; advocate for patient rights.
• Lead unit initiatives and potentially serve as charge nurse or preceptor.
