Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PRN to deliver professional nursing care to a diverse patient population. The role includes assessments, exams, treatments, patient education and charting, in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The position requires Texas RN licensure, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale certification, and ACLS within 4 months; expects two years of RN experience and leadership experience or potential as charge nurse/preceptor. Six shifts per nine weeks.

Qualifications

• Two years of registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct nursing assessments and education.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional health care team to coordinate care.
• Function as charge nurse or preceptor and participate in unit/shared governance initiatives.
