Job summary

PIH Health Downey Hospital seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide direct patient care in an evening shift. You will assess, plan, educate and evaluate care while coordinating with the care team to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a California RN license, active BLS, and prior acute care experience. Strong communication with patients and families is essential for discharge planning and care continuity.

Qualifications

• Current California RN license is required.
• Evidence of continuing education.
• Prior experience in an acute care facility or formal classroom education.
• Current Basic Life Support Card (BLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care including assessment, plan of care, education and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Coordinate delivery of care with the health-care team to maintain patient flow.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.
• Document and communicate patient status and changes to the care team.
