Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Room Resource Pool Nurse to provide direct patient care in collaboration with the care team. You will act as a clinical resource, guide staff, and support the chargenurse role to ensure quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Qualified candidates hold RN licensure in Tennessee or a compact state, current BLS, and ACLS within 6 months of hire, with at least two years of ER experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in TN or compact state.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years of ER nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess plans and evaluate patient care needs; carry out physician orders.
• Administer medications, change dressings, cleanse wounds, monitor vital signs.
• Record and communicate patient condition using computerized systems.
• Educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Emergency Room Float Pool Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.The RN utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, andidentifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. This role also plans individualized patient care whileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach, participates in performance improvement activities, provides care, and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting inthe chargenurserole, RNsare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.Make staff assignments based on patient need,acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff.Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess plans and evaluate thepatientscare needs and will carry out physician orders.

• Monitor,record,and communicate patient condition asappropriate utilizingcomputerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Tennessee Board of Nursing or compact state required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)required within 6 months of hire
• 2 yearsof clinical nursing experience in an emergency room is required
