Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced heart and vascular environment. As an EP Nurse, you will collaborate with managers and hospital councils to influence patient care and nursing practice.

Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting patient status, coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams, assisting with procedures, and supporting performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with state license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient condition.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses.
• Direct or supervise nursing staff and coordinate unit activities.
• Participate in precepting new employees and sharing knowledge with peers.
• Coordinate with healthcare team to plan and evaluate patient care plans.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

When acting in charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

What you will do in this role:

• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.

• Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
• Active participation in precepting new employees and shares knowledge with peers
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
• Communicates pre/post procedure education to the patient/family
• Scrubs/assists physicians with diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures
• Scrubs/assists physicians with insertion/removal of devices such as pacemakers and ICDs
• Provides hemodynamic monitoring assistance during procedures
• Maintain necessary knowledge to perform daily duties in procedure area by furthering education as needed
• Supports the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
• At least 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year of that being in critical care: ICU, ER, Cath Lab
