Job summary

UK King's Daughters seeks a dedicated paramedic to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and to support nursing staff within the healthcare team. The role involves supervised tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe, efficient emergency care delivery.

Essential duties include assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges, while upholding HIPAA and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training in a designated technical area.
• 0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Certifications: CPR, BLS, ACLS, EMT, Paramedic, PALS, AMIS/SDS certifications listed in the job description.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department under supervision.
• Assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and activities of daily living.
• Maintains infection control, HIPAA, safety standards, and all institutional policies.
• Performs phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and credentialed ACLS procedures within scope.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and participates in process improvement.
• Attends mandatory in‑services, meetings, and competency/licensure requirements.
