Job summary

Pride Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive emergency patient care in a high-acuity trauma ED in Brooklyn, NY. The role emphasizes assessment, care planning, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

The RN will perform medication titration, care for ventilators/tracheostomies, and supervise support staff while maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
• BSN is required.
• Emergency Department/high-acuity trauma experience.
• Competency in ventilator/tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tubes, and medication titration.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• TNCC, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications are required.

Job description

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive emergency patient care using the nursing process. The RN will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized plans of care, coordinate treatment with the multidisciplinary team, and provide safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess immediate and ongoing patient care needs and develop comprehensive plans of care.
• Provide direct nursing care based on patient needs, medical orders, and established standards of practice.
• Monitor, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatment.
• Perform timely reassessments and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition or diagnosis.
• Coordinate nursing interventions and the overall plan of care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Prioritize care and ensure timely delivery of treatments and therapeutic interventions.
• Provide age-appropriate care, including pediatric and geriatric patients as applicable.
• Administer medications and perform medication titration according to clinical protocols.
• Demonstrate competency in caring for patients with ventilators/tracheostomies and gastrostomy tubes.
• Supervise and coordinate care provided by LPNs, nursing assistants, technicians, and other support staff within their scope of practice.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, nursing standards development, research, and pilot projects.
• Assist with staff orientation and serve as a clinical resource for nursing students.
• Assume charge responsibilities when delegated by nursing leadership.
• Participate in meetings, committees, conferences, and continuing education programs.
• Demonstrate effective communication and the ability to manage stressful situations in a high-acuity environment.
• Support professional growth through continuing education and appropriate professional certifications.

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center
• BSN required
• Emergency Department/high-acuity trauma experience
• Competency in ventilator/tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tubes, and medication titration
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• TNCC required
• BLS – AHA required
• ACLs – AHA required
• PALS – AHA required
• NIHSS Stroke Certification required
• 14-week contract position
• Shift is 11.5 hrs/night (7 PM - 7:30 AM), 34.5 hrs/week
• Location is Brooklyn, NY 11212
• Local Pay Range: $60 - $63 per hour
• Pay Range for travelers: $2,450 - $2,500 per week
