Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Room Float Pool RN for a part-time role in Nashville. The RN will provide direct patient care within the scope of the RN Practice Act and participate in interdisciplinary planning to improve patient outcomes and support hospital mission.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

• 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an emergency room is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess plans and evaluate the patient care needs and will carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Emergency Room Float Pool Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.The RN utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, andidentifiesnursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. This role also plans individualized patient care whileutilizingan interdisciplinary approach, participates in performance improvement activities, provides care, and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.

**When acting inthe chargenurserole, RNsare responsible forday-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.Make staff assignments based on patient need,acuityand the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resource for the staff.Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.**
