Emergency Room Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Job Overview

Under the general supervision of the unit's director, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for directing and coordinating all functions within the unit during their designated shifts. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC continuously assesses the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, record, and report changes in patients' conditions.
• Create and maintain detailed and accurate reports and records.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify care plans based on patient responses and conditions.
• Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and safely, maintaining accountability for patient care.
• Provide individualized education to patients, families, and caregivers throughout the care continuum.
• Adhere to safety standards and infection control protocols in patient care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state board.
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within 1 year of employment.
• CPI certification within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, including ICU or Psych settings.
• At least 1 year of experience as an Emergency Room Nurse.

Preferred Experience

• Trauma experience.
• Charge Nurse experience.
