Job summary

Saint Luke's in Missouri is seeking an ED Technician to perform direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse in the emergency department. The role focuses on bathing, hygiene, toileting, feeding and hydration, and safe patient positioning, with a goal of patient safety and satisfaction.

You will participate in regular patient rounds, maintain ED competency, and communicate effectively with the care team.

Qualifications

• Nursing assistant certification, EMT certification, or completion of the Fundaments of Nursing course equates to six months of experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or preferred.
• Six months experience as an ED Technician or EMT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care such as bathing and hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition feeding and hydration, and ambulation and positioning in the emergency room.
• Perform regular patient rounds to support safety and satisfaction and communicate with the care team.
• Maintain ED-specific competency and work under RN direction.
