Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, ME is hiring for a nursing assistant/EMT role with a focus on patient movement, vitals, and safety. Qualifications

• High school level knowledge.
• Experience or graduation from Nursing Assistant or EMT program preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire or transfer.
• EMT certification from an approved institution or training program preferred.
• At least 1 year of current experience within the last 3 years in a comparable job classification.
• Ability to work under stress and complete duties, sometimes with interruptions.
• Must communicate information to supervisor and co-workers.
• Familiar with equipment used to move patients and take vital signs.
• Ability to understand printed health related material.
• Internship with coursework/clinical time up to 6 weeks with proficiencies in phlebotomy and EKG.

• High school level of knowledge. Previous experience or graduated from a Nursing Assistant or EMT program preferred.

• BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire or transfer.

• Licensing: Proof of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from an approved institution or training program preferred.

• Unless otherwise indicated, one year of current experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification required

• Works effectively with others, possess tact, discretion and diplomacy
