Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department/Urgent Care Flex. The role provides nursing care using the nursing process and standards, with accountability for assigned patients.

The RN may serve as charge nurse when required and collaborates with healthcare staff to ensure safe patient care. Required education includes ADN; a BSN is preferred or must be obtained within three years.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN degree preferred or obtained within 3 years.
• Current Florida RN license or valid licensure in one of the states under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• BLS from the American Heart Association; ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• PALS and NRP required within six (6) months of hire/transfer; existing employees must have certifications by 12/31/2018.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse in the ED/Urgent Care.
• Fulfills staff nurse duties and acts as charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintains accountability for assigned patients, with possible delegation to Tech Nurses, Patient Care Associates, or Sitters.
• Assigns care based on age and developmental level of patients.
