Job summary

MedVet in Carmel, IN is seeking an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. This full-time, day-shift position offers opportunities to work on complex cases and collaborate with a skilled care team.

Ideal candidates hold a State RB license, have prior emergency experience, and are proficient in calculations. Strong communication and flexibility with hours are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

What you’ll do:

Who you are:
