Job summary

MedVet seeks an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will record rounds, evaluate patients, assist the DVM, and provide anesthesia and nursing care. Client education and in-house lab work are also part of the role.

State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred with prior veterinary emergency experience. Strong math skills, clear communication, and adaptability are essential. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, IV infusions, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans and client communication.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside lab testing.

We are looking for: Emergency Veterinary Technician

What you'll do:

• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:
