MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team in Columbus, OH. The role supports patient care, anesthesia, and client education in a fast-paced emergency setting.

The ideal candidate holds a State Registered Veterinary Technician license, has veterinary experience (emergency a plus), and demonstrates strong calculator skills and clear communication with clients and teammates.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Prior veterinary experience is required; emergency experience is preferred.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Flexible with work hours; overtime may be necessary.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds; discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside labs.

We are looking for:

Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician

What you’ll do:

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required

• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
