Job summary

The Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an Emergency Radiologist to join the Division of Emergency Radiology in a high-volume academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center environment.

This open-rank, fixed-term faculty appointment offers a 7 days on / 14 days off schedule with potential evening/overnight shifts and focus on education, collaboration, and scholarly activity within a vibrant academic setting.

Qualifications

• Board-certified radiologist or board-eligible radiologist.
• Fellowship training in any radiology subspecialty or equivalent clinical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Interpret emergency and trauma imaging studies including radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI in the acute care setting.
• Provide timely, high-quality diagnostic interpretations to support ED and trauma patient care.
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine, Acute Care Surgery, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in education and supervision of residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Engage in departmental and institutional quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in scholarly, academic, or research activities as needed.
• No MRI or pediatric imaging interpretation and no procedures required in this division.
