Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Radiology seeks an Emergency Radiologist (MD/DO) to join the Division of Emergency Radiology. The role supports clinical, educational, and academic missions in a high-volume academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center.

Working with Emergency Medicine, Acute Care Surgery, and other teams, you will interpret radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI in the emergency setting; participate in resident and fellow education,

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent education is required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Radiology is preferred.
• Fellowship in a radiology subspecialty is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret emergency and trauma imaging (XR, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI).
• Provide timely, high-quality diagnostic interpretations for ED/trauma care.
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine and Surgical teams on emergent cases.
• Educate and supervise radiology residents, fellows, and students.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and scholarly activities.
• No MRI or pediatric imaging interpretation required; no procedures in this unit.
