Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Hospital-Based Registered Nurse at University Hospital in Louisville, KY. You will provide nursing care to patients across ages using the nursing process and safety standards.

Under supervision of a clinical nurse manager, you will assess patient health, administer medications, plan care with patients and families, educate patients, and participate in discharge planning as part of a collaborative care team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required.
• Must start an approved BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years of hire.
• KY RN license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky required.
• BLS certification required; PALS/ACLS may be required for specific areas.

Responsibilities

• Conducts systematic assessments from admission to discharge across the care continuum to ensure patient safety.
• Administers medications per licensure and documents administration per policies and standards.
• Plans care with patient and family using current science and safety goals; creates individualized, age-specific plans.
• Identifies patient problems and priorities with the care team to inform the plan of care.
• Evaluates patient teaching outcomes and revises plans to improve outcomes and satisfaction.
• Discharge planning and advocacy to promote safe transitions.
