Job summary

UofL Health South Hospital, located in Shepherdsville, KY, is seeking Registered Nurses for ED, ICU, mixed acuity and OR units. The role supports 24/7 emergency care and a 10-bed ICU, with day and night shifts available.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in collaboration with the care team, ensuring patient safety and family-centered outcomes. Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred; prior hospital experience encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
• Two years of hospital patient care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts systematic, continuous and comprehensive assessments of patient health status from admission to discharge across the care continuum to ensure patient safety.
• Independently administers medications per licensure authority and documents administration.
• Plans care with patient and family using current scientific knowledge and nursing standards.
• Identifies and prioritizes patient problems with the care team and implements nursing interventions.
• Evaluates patient teaching and ensures understanding across age groups and backgrounds.
