Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) for the Nights shift at University Hospital - UMC in Louisville, KY. The RN will deliver nursing care to patients across age groups, following the nursing process and safety standards, and collaborate with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Essential functions include comprehensive assessments, medication administration, and coordinated care planning with families.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current KY RN licensure or compact license to work in Kentucky.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; specialty certifications may be required per unit.
• Nurse Residency program participation for new grads; 2 years hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across age groups using the nursing process and safety-focused practices.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments from admission to discharge with patient-family collaboration.
• Administer medications accurately and document per policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans with the care team and patient/family.
• Coordinate with unlicensed assistive personnel and other teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.
