Job summary

The role requires basic Medical Assistant skills, an associate degree or equivalent, and experience as a Nurse's Aide or Patient Care Associate. English proficiency and cardiopulmonary certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent with some college level courses preferred.
• Basic Medical Assistant skills including EKG and venipuncture.
• 1 year of Nurse’s Aide or Patient Care Associate experience preferred.
• Completion of Crisis Prevention and Intervention course.
• English language proficiency required.
• Prior healthcare experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
• Heart Saver certification or BCLS accepted as alternative.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with selected procedures and tasks for patients.
• Support admissions, transfers and discharge following policy.
• Provide direct care and one-to-one observation under supervision.
• Assist with patient examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Help with lifting, positioning and safe transport of patients.
• Perform basic monitoring (BP, temp, pulse, respirations) per policy.
• Participate in safety rounds and crisis interventions as needed.
• Communicate patient needs and observations to the nurse.
• Document care provided and participate in team meetings.
